topic ArchiCAD Student Version in Licensing

<T>I have been unable to find exact confirmation on the following information. I am wondering if I save a file on the ArchiCAD student version, that I could then transfer that to the full out version Archicad 8.0 and open, work on the drawing, and print it on the 8.0 version. The main thing being, are the student version files compatible with the regular version. I would be using the student version at home, and then transfering it to 8.0 at work for further cleaning up and printing.

If anyone can help me ASAP I'd really appreciate it. Searching on the web can only get you so far. I know the student version is "limited" in saving it as a .dwg file...but to summarize, I just need to know if I would be able to re-open the student version files, in the 8.0 version of ArchiCAD.

thankyou in advance,
No, only the other way works. You can take a professional project and open it on the student version, but you cannot take a student file and open it with the professional (full) version.

GDL files are the same on either, however.
It really depends on the dealer or the local policy... My student version is identical as the commercial version, I just got a PPU-dongle, with still some vagueness on the ability to reload it when it stops working. But since I also have a commercial version (yes, really) and I usually don't use ArchiCAD that much these days, it might take some time to find this out...

Question.
If you have student version and after you graduate can you upgrade to a commercial version and just pay upgrade price or do you have to buy Full New commercial version?

Usually FULL price. But ask a quote from the dealer, since it's possible that there are special actions. I missed one such occasion a few years ago, after I bought a full license. This action was about half the price of a full seat...
