AC17 WIBU Key to Software Key - URGENT HELP REQ.

Hi,

I have a friend who has remained with Archicad 17 as he is a retired architect and it does all he needs to do.

He has a WIBU hardware key.

Is he able to covert this to a software key using the License Manager?

Reading between the lines I am not sure if it can be converted?

It seems you can convert AC18 or newer versions of a WIBU key, and then use past archicad versions, but cannot update a AC17 version.

And sorry to ask for urgent help, but I am meant to be travelling 40 miles to do this for him tomorrow, and it would be good to know if it can be done before I travel.

Sorry, this is probably a bit late now.
I have no idea if 17 can even use a software license, but even if it can I don't think it is something you can do yourself.
As far as I know it needs to be done through you local distributor.

Thanks for the late reply.

You are right you need a key code from the reseller.

After investigation, they have finally come back to say that it can only be converted from AC18 onwards.

So it was not just me that was confused, it took them a while to work out if possible.
