How to put the same license into 2 CodeMeter Dongles?

I got 2 CodeMeter Dongles for the same license and I guess one of them is the backup one.

The backup one has been in the drawer for years until I found it recently and wonder if I can use them for the office and home separately so that I don't have to carry the dongle with me all the time any more.

Has anyone done the same?

If you have 2 codemeter dongles (USB keys), then as far as I know, they can not contain the same license.

They would have to be 2 separate licenses.

I have never heard of a backup dongle.

But if they both work, then fine, use one at home an the other at work.

The whole point of Licence Dongles is that they are unique... If you could duplicate them, they would no longer perform their function...
Maybe you should look into changing over to a software licence?

Thanks guys! After spending sometime playing around with the CM app, I found out the 2nd dongle has actually expired and I might change to a softkey as suggested by Ling. Cheers

You probably got a replacement for your dongle at some point. We once thought we lost one of our dongles overseas got a replacement then found it a few months later...

Do note, that with a software licence, you need to remember to upload your licence when you finish using it if you want to be able to use it on another computer. I do not believe there was a way to remotely do this.

No, you can not remotely administer the software licenses.

You must load / unload from the machine you use them on - no exceptions.

Cloud licenses can on the other hand be controlled remotely, but I am not sure you can transfer an existing license to a cloud license.

I think only new purchases can be cloud licenses.

And they will also not run anything earlier than version 26, so no good if you want ever use old versions.
