If you download and install the latest WIBU drives it should get you up and going again.

Hi.

We are running a WIBU-KEY licese server with 2 USB dongles and it takes a loooot of time to run trough BIOS, Tkaing one USB dongle out reduces the time but still a loong time.
The dongles are also slowing down the perfomance of the mashine as the BIOS seems to run in a "limp home" state.

This problem with the performance dropping seems to be related to many types of USB - units. Having a lot of reports coming in from our Univ. with the same problem on USB-units for other servers and applications.

On my wich list: a NON-USB license handler.

/ BG
Sven-Erik Tiberg
Computer Centre
Lulea Univ. of Techn.
Sweden

Patrick wrote:
I did a complete format and install on the OS partition, installed Archicad 8.1. But when I put the key in and start the program I get an error that the key either isnt found or isnt valid. The error code has mostly been error 1050017 & also error code 128.

Did you restart the machine between installing 8.1 and plugging the dongle? When plugged in, the dongle should be recognized by the machine as a new USB device, and it should offer you to install its software automatically. Do so, and then start 8.1

Try uninstalling 8.1 and reinstalling it. Also, do the XP update; it also might be that you have some hardware, especially if the computer is a relatively older one, that does not agree with XP fully. If any other USB device is making trouble, then ... that's it. Hardware.

Update.

The exe above kept giving me errors when it tried to install. Mostly about lang files. But it got me thinking and I checked the install disk. SInce wibu is a separate prog from archicad the exe was on the disk. I installed from there restarted plugged in the dongle and it worked.

Unfortunately I had a reboot, and I'm starting to think the HD is going out on me. Once it restarted I tried going back into archicad and it again wasn't recognizing that the dongle is there.

I do a reinstall and see what I can up with .

Thanks
