You can open the file, but it will become marked as educational, also when reopening in the commercial version.

<T>Hi everyone,

I have a file that a studio sent me and wants me work on it at home. The thing is that they have a regular license and when I try to open it with my educational license a warning pops up saying that it is not possible to do so "Can't open this file because it was not created with an educational license.

What can I do? Is it even possible??

Thanks in advance

Best regards,
Diogo Faísca</T>

It is not possible, once the file is opened it will switch to EDU and you cannot turn it back to professional.
You cannot use an EDU license for professional work but if it is for school work then go right ahead it will open without issues.

There are monthly pro licenses that you can buy to work and you can have 2 installations of AC one for professional work and one for educational.
