Introduction to Developer community for assistance

Hello All,

My name is Elton. Am an architectural draftsperson and graduate quantity survey from Uganda. I have been using Archicad for some years now and absolutely love it.

I have searched and got to know about platforms like Developer API, PARAM-O, where users get the experience of customising Archicad to their needs. Am interested in joining the developers program, though not sure where to start from. My biggest interest is in modifying Archicad with specialised workflows and data intergration for use by quantity surveyors in my region.

Am also willing and started to learn programing languages.

Your help with relevant advice, information or hints is highly appreciated.

Hi Elton,

Welcome to the community. Archicad has several extension capabilities, so first you should decide which direction you would like to go.

They serve different purposes, and they need different level of programming knowledge. The easiest way is to use the Automation (Python) API. It has less functionality than the Add-On API (C++), but maybe it's enough to deal with quantities.
