May be a good question for the guys at Graphisoft as it is not included even in the EcoDesigner Star User Manual:

Hi,

Virtual structures have to be created between zones, when they were placed side by side, but they belong to different Thermal Blocks. It is necessary from the view of the EcoDesigner engine.
