What about right clicking on the 'Generic Perspective' or 'Generic Axonometry' in the Project Map and choosing "Save Current View'.
This will create a new view in the View Map.

Or if you have used a view from the View Map you can right click on it and open its settings, then press the 'Get Current Window Settings' button to store the current settings.

Will either of these do what you want?

<T>You are working on some specific corner with some weird scale, GOC and layer combination, after a thousand QuickLayers clicks etc., and in comes the damned TW message with a view capture. You know that when you open that capture your current custom view settings for that viewpoint will be gone forever —there is a back button for zoom, but not for all settings. The way out of that trap is to open a new message, take a screen capture yourself, address the message to yourself, send, and there you have your own current view to click back to whenever you are done with the damned incoming TW message question.</T>
