Auto-Send....is there a way to make this automatic?

The "Send" part of the send/receive in a Teamwork file?
I mean...what's the point of having to "manually" send information back to the server..........just like there is an "autosave" which lets you set intervals of savetime.....there should be an "autosend" which allows the user "NOT" to have to worry if the local copy of your TW project got sent back to the server..............dunno..........maybe I'm just asking for too much here but I think it would be a hugely VALUABLE tool to have.

You do realise that the 'autosave' is not saving your job file, it is a temporary backup that can only be accessed after power/computer failure.

There is no automatic save for your job.
And would you really want one or an 'autosend'?

How would Archicad know when you are happy with you model and want to save/send it?
Imagine you are playing around with the design or haven't completed your task yet, Archicad sends the changes to all other users and off they go based on what you haven't done yet.
Recipe for disaster in my opinion.

What I would like is maybe for the option to keep the autosave files (even for a set time period i.e. 2 weeks) rather than having them delete on successful closure of the program.
But that is a different matter.
I seem to be getting more and more users swearing they have saved there file before closing only to find an old file when they re-open it.
User error or system error I don't know.

So it is a bit like the 'autosave' you want but not saving still to a temporary location - not the actual job.
Then if it can stay around for a predetermined period of time before being deleted we might be able to access it in the case of 'non-saved' files.

'Autasave' or 'autosend' to the actual job file would be a disaster.

you can't imagine how many times I've done work for hours (4 or 5 or 6 hours) and NOT done a send/receive. it's "those" times that you wish you had an "autosend" option.

How many times has a file 'crashed' and I hadn't sent the work. sometimes these crashes were to the point where the file got corrupt and there goes my work.

Dunno....I think an autosend would be better than having to do it manually.

You are aware that this is not AC's fault or do you want Revit's famous interruption http://architexts.us/2013/06/03/save-to-central/ and then we can complain about that one.

yes...FULLY aware it's not AC's fault.
But....to have to continually remind myself, every...10...minutes....to "send" cause sometimes the send/recieve function gets quirky and returns back a "TW error file function, blah blah, blah" message.....Now I'm paranoid that I have to be conscientious of the fact that I must only SEND and not SEND/REC due to it's tempermant.

Yes, fully aware it's not AC's fault............but..........I think (and I'm most certain) I'm not the one ONLY user requesting an "AUTOSEND" functionality.

I'm fully in tune with the whole "well,if I'm not ready to commit to a design then why would I want ALL users to have a design that hasn't been fully vested"......but I think the "Oooo I've lost 4 hours worth of work" outweighs the nagging need to have to remind oneself to send manually.

My recommendation is to develop the following habit. When you stop to think or wait for the computer always hit the shortcut (Command+Opt+S) for send and receive if on TW or the regular save on Non-TW files. Lots of headaches avoided by always pressing that combo automatically.

I wish I could remember to do that.
Thing is......I'm too old. My memory is failing and to have to remember.....one.....more.....task to do....well, let's just say it's tough.

With all the garbage I have stuffed in my brain these days.......unfortunately that additional new thought pattern goes by the way of the do-do bird
