topic BIMserver 18 keeps crashing on VM in Teamwork & BIMcloud

<R>We've set up quite a big BIMserver, running on a Virtual Machine for educational puposes. There are some 50 projects (50%active) of 80 students (max. load: 40 simultaneoous users) running on the server.

In the beginning, it ran fine (with more simultaneous users active, but smaller projects), but now it keeps crashing (and restarting). After pushing the IT-guys to come up with a solution, they sent me the 'error-message'.

I don't know much about network-technology, but maybe some of you guys can help me out? Here's the message:

[07 Dec 2014 17:12:14] ERROR [ProxyService] - anonymous - blob-cache-ping: failed
Exception: ClientConnectionException: Failed to start response: failed to read response header.
at D:\VMWD\Build\Sources\Communication\CommunicationClient\Source\Communication\Client\Http\Impl\Thttp\ThttpClientConnection.cpp(599)
Caused by: ClientResponseReaderException: Failed to read client response header.
at D:\VMWD\Build\Sources\Communication\CommunicationClient\Source\Communication\Client\Http\Impl\Thttp\ThttpClientResponseReader.cpp(242)
Caused by: SocketException: Socket read failed. (Error code: 10053. Error message: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
.)
at D:\VMWD\Build\Sources\Network\NetworkDLL\Socket\WinSocketImpl.cpp(805)

I assume the size of the server/number of users, in combination with running it on a VM in stead of a dedicated (?) server (probably alongside other (database?) processes) would be a bad choise.
Maybe some of you have better experiences with this scale and VM? All tips & help is welcome!

Greetings - R.</R>
