Send/Recieve?...how to auto-set it to every 5 MINUTES??

...where do I go to set the "SEND/RECEIVE" to every 5minutes as an AUTOSET function?

My system/AC model crashes a bunch, losing enormous amounts of work.....so please...I need your help here folks.

I am not aware of such a function in Teamwork that could automate this.
You could do a CTRL+S (hard save) to save a local copy. But that would be manual each time. In that case it is maybe easier to click the Send/Receive button every 5 minutes.

Has this issue (to me is an issue) been covered in the latest versions? I still can't find any option to automate 'send&receive' and that would be critical for time saving (for the times when AC crashes and doesn't save)

Well...apparently some (a lot) of users think this is a bad idea. I don't....think for that same reason of being able to safely maintain the most updated work before a crash.

There have been countless times when I just merely forgot to do a send/receive and the TW file gets locked up or crashes and I lose 2 or 3 hours worth of intense work...

Do you know what is the reason these (lot) of users have for thinking that is a bad idea?
Beside, if should just be an option, like it is for the auto-save, nobody would force them to tick it.

GS thinks that the auto "send/receive" is a bad because they feel if a user is experimenting with a design and that user is not ready to upload it to the main file, and it auto sends/recieves....then it changed the design without being ready to be implemented. Personally, as you say...toggle it on or off...simple as that.

My short term workaround has been to set my OS "Date & Time" to
announce the time on the quarter hour. Frick'en annoying... but I'll
only lose 15min. of work.

SURE.....that's one way to do it.
But...again...I ask, why can't we (the ones who use and really know what WE need as far as functionality on the software), why can't we simply have a button/setting in Archicad that allows each user to set the "send/recieve time" frequency to their chosing. I'm still not convinced by GS that it's better "NOT" to have an "auto send/receive function" built into the software settings.

If a user is working on a "design" concept he/she doesn't want to yet release to the team....well, ok then, that's fine...but I believe SAVING hours worth of work is at a higher priority than NOT having the functionality of an "auto send/rec" button/setting/toggle...whatever you wanna call it....button.

I agree - make a wish.

I assume GS may also be considering your network traffic. 10 users sending and receiving every 5 minutes could potentially bog down the network, interrupting your ArchiCAD-Talk emails and streaming ArchiCAD YouTube tutorials.
