topic Archicad Offline Mac only Network - DNS? in Teamwork & BIMcloud

<T>I have a client that uses 6 Mac clients (OS 10.8.5) and a Mac Mini Server (OS 10.8.5 Server). Their Archicad said offline this morning and they turned it on but the client machines showed offline.

I am not certain what fixed it but I repaired perms on the OS drive and on the 2 Archicad folders on the Raid.
I noticed that when I turned the BIM server off, in prefs it would state that both port 17004 and 16004 were in use! But when I turned the BIM server on in Prefs that error would be gone showing only the ports.
Also, after a server restart I would then start up the BIM server and it would start and say that it was running with errors for about 2-3 seconds and then it just said "started" and I could not find any errors. After another restart that no longer happened, it just started without saying anything about errors.
Also, to speed up their internet I DID add a DNS server to the server app and the system prefs. So they went from:

In the server app:
127.0.0.1
24.25.5.60
24.25.5.61

in system prefs:
24.25.5.60
24.25.5.61

TO:
In the server app:
127.0.0.1
24.25.5.60
24.25.5.61
24.25.5.149

in system prefs:
24.25.5.60
24.25.5.61
24.25.5.149

I then removed that 24.25.5.149 from both and restarted the BIM server, still showed as offline on the clients. I did another repair perms and restarted and the last restart things went back online.

So my question would be is is there anything I explained that would stand out as an issue or a fix? I am an Network Engineer not a BIM expert so I need to learn how this works from a communications perspective.

Thank you</T>
