I am pretty curious what you folks at GS were up to with BIM Cloud. I personally hope that it will be possible to access (at least) database data and drawings directly from web, comment them, export and perhaps it could also allow consultants to upload their IFC models for collision check. At the same time, I would love to view current version of BIM model within BIMx. I tried cloud based BIM solution from Gehry Technology called GTeam and I was not very amused with what it could do. And of course I hope that even small offices will be able to get their hands on it.

<R>Today Graphisoft has announced its upcoming BIMCloud Solution. The following article details its most important features:

<LINK_TEXT text="http://www.graphisoft.com/info/news/pre ... tokyo.html">http://www.graphisoft.com/info/news/press_releases/graphisoft-BIMcloud-announced-in-tokyo.html</LINK_TEXT>

Based on the info in that article, what do you guys think about it? Is this something you are looking forward to using?
Is there any feature in particular in it you guys have been wishing for in the past?</R>

Hi Laszlo

Thanks for the link - however its hard to comment when the article is so unspecific!
In summary it appears that GS is offering to host our teamwork files on remote servers...?
There is no detail as to whether any new functionality is offered, or what the pricing structure might be!
All stakeholders can access - does this mean they have to have ArchiCAD lisences? Can they upload from other software? Lots of questions...

Ill come back with my reaction when more info is available.

Ska… this is not running AC on the cloud (like GTech) it is making it easier to run Teamwork in the "cloud" and connect different BimServers. This article might be more clear.
