Settings mac bimserver 18

Hello everyone,

We lost a day to try to make the bimserver to work on a mac network.

We bought a new mac because we cannot run both bimserver 17 and the bim server 18.

So we start with a fresh mac to do the new bimserver for 18

We install the new bimserver and everything seems to run fine. Everyone have to know that everything go by the safari browser to make setup for user and projects.

The problem is went we try to connect from a user computer we can't see the bimserver and won't connect.

We need help

Maybe it is a port problems

I had to speak with technical support who gave me the answer which is not documented anywhere that I could find.

Add :1228 to the server address when trying to connect at the user station.

bimserver.companyX.com:1228

Worked like a charm for me. You can also use this address in your browser to login and mange the BIM server from your workstation.
