Configuring BIM Server

<T>Hello
I just reinstalled ArchiCAD 13 edu on my vista 32bit pc.
I'm running through the tutorials from Graphisofts homepage and have reached the part where I have to install the BIM Server.
I have noticed that the BIM server no longer comes with the Archicad installation but is downloaded as an add-on for Archicad 13.
I downloaded it and installed it. The tutorial guide says that after the installation it should ask if you want to configure a BIM server.
It doesn't ask that on my pc it just finishes the installation.
The guy in the tutorial is using a mac computer so maybe thats the difference?
I now have the BIM Server Manager installed. When I open it it asks me to choose wich BIM server to work on. I cant get past this box since I haven't set a BIM server up yet??</T>

I think you installed the BIM Server Manager application, but have not yet installed the BIM Server application itself.
You should do that.
On the machine where the BIM Server is located, the BIM Server Manager application is not really needed because a BIM Server Control Center is available from the Taskbar and you can open the BIM Server Manager from the BIM Server Control Center.

Thanks.
and yes I had just installed the BIM Server Manager.
I've been looking for the BIM server Control Center since i posted my original question having seen some related questions on the forum.
Problem is that the Control Center didn't come with the download...
on my taskbar there is only a link to the Manager...
I don't know if there is a problem with my computer or the download, but is there somewhere else you could find a download for the Control center??

I guess you downloaded from myarchicad.com.
I would think there should be 3 separate downloads:
ArchiCAD
BIM Server
BIM Server Manager.
You need to install the first 2, the 3rd is optional.

I think you should run the latest AC13 hotfix on the BIM Server machine.

Yes and as AFAIR it will prompt you to update ArchiCAD, the BIM Server Manager, and the BIM Server, so you will need to skip past the ones you don't need to update.

Cheers,
