The BIM server simply xmits and receives information through IP address and ports (that you can specify in the server properties dialogue). You just need to make sure that the ports; five total, if my memory is correct, are open or authorized through your firewalls.

It would also help to make sure that your BIM server has a static IP on your network.

<T>Hi everyone !

I'm new in this BIM World so i have some question. I've already read datasheets about hardware req. and operating system for deployment BIM server but i can't find answer does that BIM server (instaled on MS Windows server 2008) requires Active Directory implemented in my network structure or Workgroup is enough? How does BIM server solve user authentication?

Thanks,</T>

I have not so far heard of such a thing being a requirement.
The BIM Server is using certain IP ports for its communications.

Is something not working for you?
