Inconsistency in BIM server. double reserving.

well... here is the deal .. for some reason BIM server managed to have different versions of the project on different computers !

2 of the team members are working on a project ... Mr.A is working on Dimensions in elevations ... Mr.B was checking it .. and he found that dimensions are wrong so he reserved and started working on .. and he mentioned that to Mr.A .. who said that he already did that yesterday !..

we opened both computers .. and it was correct for Mr.A , not correct for Mr.B . both were asked to send and receive ... still the same .. now the scary part is that both were able to reserve the same elements ( dimensions ) and work with them and release them .. send and receive.. and still both have 2 different results on their screens . other stuff were fine ( other views and changes) .

Now we were lucky to notice that .. on small project with a small team .. but its really a serious issue !

The solution was to ask Mr.A to release everything .. we deleted his local files and downloaded a fresh copy ..then Mr.B's results are showing on his screen .. and Mr.A lost his changes .

Not sure how this works and wondering if we deleted B's local .. will the copy on the server be Mr.A's ?

did any one faced that before ?

You might need to call in Mr T.

Are you saying some changes were live on both machines but others weren't?

If that is the case it is a real worry.
Otherwise it seems as if there are two separate files being worked on.

actually Barry .. if we didn't manage to find out that error in short time .. and we ended up with a huge issue after couple of days ... I think any of them can be easily Mr.T

and yes .. the other changes were live . views or even changes and reservation ( even in the same view .. other elements reservation was just fine ) . only text , dimension and annotation ( at least that what we have noticed ) . we could both reserve at the same time .. change and update the server with different values .. but still each computer is telling it's own story !
