<T>While working remotely on a teamwork file, the IT guy restarted the office firewall - effectively breaking the server link.

When restarting, the 'work in detached mode' message comes up. Is there anyway to 'reattach' to a teamwork file - or can you only discard any work you have done?</T>

I think there is no such feature as reattach.
But make sure to save your local copy as PLN before discarding so you can copy-paste any modifications you have not sent to the server.

Thanks for that - I did think that was the only option available.

This fault it's quite severe.
Why the user can't connect to server?
What goes wrong?
It's in the user part or server part?
It's a network problem?
It's a Windows problem?
Why the user can receive instead of sending?

The opening post says the problem was caused by the IT guy restarting the firewall.
So I guess people who work remotely should be notified and they should send in their changes before restarting the firewall.

Indeed but this connection related like restarted firewall, dropped internet connections etc are usual in a teamwork/network office.
The BIM server must manage all this problems and anounce the admin that is a problem (internal BIM errors).
The main problem it's with Archicad, i get this "reattach" error without any network related problems... it just happent...
We want to help graphisoft and other users to avoid this kind of problems, we need as users a flowless server solution, as much as possible.

This thread it's linked with this one <LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... hp?t=29904">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=29904</LINK_TEXT>
