Archicad 29 BIMcloud SAAS very slow

Hi!

We are experiencing problems with Archicad 29 and BIMcloud SaaS in our company. When working in a Teamwork file, we frequently encounter errors, or the system becomes very slow. Is anyone else experiencing the same issues? We don't see the same problems in Archicad 28.

This happened every day since november when we started working in AC29.

Hi Maria,

I don't know if this can help:

We work on Mac and had similar problems in AC 27 -> 29

It turned out that the iCloud+ subscription adds a private network relay that filters and slows down any network traffic. If you work on a Mac and have an iCloud+ subscription: turn of Private Relay in the iCloud settings!

I started a thread on the forum over a year ago about how absurd teamwork opperations have been getting... it seems like the move to 29 took that post to mean teamwork was working too well... because it's gone to complete **** since the new year.
beyond the volume of t/w warnings and opperation failures I am getting, I am also seeing projects that show send/receive successful on the bimcloud manager, but users are routinely losing work. Like s/r may show its ok, but it acts as a big "undo" for all work done since the previous s/r.

Maria, please reach out to your local support tech support, resellers, or any other GS contact you have for reporting bugs.
I am currently in a info exchange with our graphisoft tech support and local rep, as we have been losing work due to these warnings (archicad is failing to send changes, and even reverting to old data after s/r).
I think the more people that report this through official channels, the more likely graphisoft will take this bug seriously. Right now, as may be apparent from that other forum link I shared above, I feel like I'm the only one voicing this issue... and one crazy person obsessively posting on the forum doesn't feel like a motivator for Graphisoft to develop a BIMcloud solution that actually works.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. It is a terrible experience—the first time in 14 years I have encountered something like this. It is happening exclusively in Archicad 29.

I was getting those same warnings in 28; but it was a weekly occurrence. Now I get designers sending me t/w warnings and bugs hourly.

The despairing part is that Graphisoft has absolutely no idea what the cause is. That makes me feel even more helpless.

ya'll remember when GS had that marketing thing about "Archicad, Faster than Ever", and their BUD release party had side by side comparison between Archicad and Revit?

where did those days go? I just waited 4.5 hours for a f***ing file to open! it's a 3.5GB file on the bimcloud. I went to connect to the bimcloud manager, and just to get to the log-in screen took 5-6 minutes.
I mean... at this point, its not a matter of "is archicad or revit better?"... we gotta ask... is autocac+sketchup or archicad better?
FR... this ***t is Sssssssllllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

I remember being a huge fan and advocate of archicad. I couldn't say enough about archicad superiority... but if someone hits me up and asks if I can help them transition ot AC, I gotta hesitate... yeah... I can... but maybe keep doing what you're doing until they figure a few things out... doesn't feel ethical to encourage them to move into this **** show

The reality is that there is no BIM application that does not run into hardware/software limitations after a certain point.

Have you thought about breaking up the project into smaller files so that they are easier to manage?

Breaking up the model into several project files? Or, separating the model and documentation into two separate project files?

he Laszlo, I think breaking files up is a great suggestion, and we routinely do, even on large single family residential projects, we often have:
-separate files for each building
-a separate file for the site and site plan
-a separate file for extended site and context
-a separate file for details (where detail layouts are more than 20-30 pages)
...
but it is noticeable that Archicad has been getting progressively slower and slower the past few versions; to the point that we have files in 29, that just 1 month ago were slow but function in 28. They would take 20-30 min to open in AC28; since migrating, we wait 3-5 hours, and often get a crash immediately after opening.
I'd agree it could be a workflow or file limitation if I didn't have the exact apples to apples comparison. My projects routinely span 3-5 years; and yeah, they get sloppy and bloated over the years. We routinely take them off the BIM server, strip them back, and load clean files. That used to work to get things running. I even tested on problem file out by saving it back to 28... it runs WAY faster in 28 than 29.

moreover, I don't think the OP's original screen shot is the same issue as the BIMcloud speed issues. The huge uptick in teamwork errors and failed s/r notifications is a separate problem in Archicad 29 and BIMcloud.
