I am just now going through a circus act. I have a 500,000 sq ft office park. 7 people have been cranking for weeks on, struggling with these warnings.
they need to get drawings in for permit TODAY.
Everyone puts a 300pt red stamp with their initials, to double check everyone is getting their send to go through. we have 5 people's signatures.
the bimcloud activity SHOWS send from everyone in the last 5 min.
We are sending repeatedly. Repeatedly getting these messages. and the 2 people who have doing some of the most work (the work that is going to be the most time consuming to redo) can not see each others stamps on the plan view. Double check, they are on AC layer. Tried send only. Tried receive only. Server reports successful send and receive. Local data does not show verification marks.
so we are going to miss our deadline, and those two designers are going to be working through the weekend to get the drawings out by monday.
...
anyone saying this is 'their fault' or something in their file... honestly, I don't have patience for that **** any more.
this is, frankly, unacceptable.
I'm with the OP... we shouldn't pay hundreds of thousands of dollars, as a company, for software that we are losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in billable time in lost work, missed deadlines, and the stress this is causing.

Archicad 29 is unusable due to Teamwork errors. Please review a measure to provide a partial refund of the Archicad 29 subscription fee.

Hello.

This is the first time in 14 years I have had such a terrible experience.

The client computers are Macs. The server is Windows 11.

The time servers are all identical, set to time.apple.com. (I even attempted to unify the time on the Windows server using the UTC method, but it was of no use.)

The error shown in the image below appears 3 to 4 times a day, causing about 30 minutes to an hour of work to vanish each time. I am suffering significant financial loss.

I converted from a perpetual license to a subscription and prepaid for 3 years.

The exact same issue occurs in SaaS as well. Only in version 29!

Graphisoft has completely failed with version 29.

What is even more despairing is that I have seen many reports of similar issues to mine in the community.

Yet, Graphisoft has absolutely no idea what the cause is.

I received a response telling me to clear the cache files and test again.

If the cache files are the problem, then why does version 28 work perfectly fine without issues?

Please take a look at what I have gone through over the past 2-3 days.

We see this error but vary vary rarely. We are all Mac based using both Archicad 28 and 29.

Once you’ve got a successful link and worked on an active file have you tried saving it out as a .pln so you have one up-to-date master, get everyone else to leave the project, remove it from the server and re-share it? It may be worth clearing your TW Data folder too but make sure everyone has sent changes and left the projects first. This almost always resolves these sorts of issues as it can be a database error. It seems to happen more to files that have been created in earlier versions and migrated.

There is also another post on here about teamwork being slow, just slightly further down the homepage than this one, which has the same error description and it suggests Turing off Private Relay if you have an iCloud + subscription. We don’t for our Macs but worth checking out if you are repeatedly seeing the error.

Thank you Lee Hankins

I have tried re-sharing the save file in Teamwork and having members re-join the shared project multiple times, but the problem reoccurs within 2 to 3 hours.

2D work is at least quick to recover, as I can simply copy and paste.

However, if synchronization fails while working on 3D models, Layouts, or View Maps, it leads to massive financial loss. Every day!

Today, I instructed my staff to abandon version 29 and use version 28 until version 30 is released. Graphisoft must take responsibility for making and selling a defective version 29. graphisoft must either provide a partial refund or extend my subscription by one additional year for the cost I have already paid.

Were the affected files created in 28 or 29 or were they migrated from earlier versions? I’d try saving the affected files out at .pln and then re-share them to Teamwork.

The problem reoccurs even when I follow the method you mentioned. I have likely tried every solution available on the forums. I wrote this post today after enduring this situation for over two months. I experienced this issue two months ago during the early launch of version 29, and I assumed it would have been fixed after two updates, but the exact same problem persists. Graphisoft does not know the cause. I cannot even remember how many reports I have sent.

It’s got to be something to do with your setup or the files themselves. Like I say, we have 12 users working on Teamwork BIMcloud SAAS and previously prior to December 2024 we were using on premises BIMcloud and very rarely saw this error. Maybe once in a 12 month period. Therefore it can’t be a fault with Archicad or BIMcloud. It likely something your side causing a network issue. How reliable is your internet connection? Do you have any anti-virus that could be interfering with the BIMcloud connection?

Once again, I have never encountered this error in 14 years. Furthermore, my current hardware and network setup has remained unchanged for three years. I experienced absolutely no issues throughout versions 26, 27, and 28. Even now, there are no issues whatsoever with version 28.

If my network were the problem, version 28 should also be failing. The issue occurs exclusively in version 29. Even if, by some chance, the issue lies in the migration process from version 28 to 29, that is still Graphisoft's fault for not handling the migration correctly.

Our office setup is very simple, with all computers connected via a single HP Gigabit switch. What specific setting could possibly be causing this? We are using the same build number and are connected to the same switch hub.

We do have a mix of Intel and Apple Silicon machines, but if that were the cause, it should also trigger issues in version 28. Version 28 works perfectly fine.

We have now abandoned version 29 and are using version 28. We are very happy. As long as I don't think about the money I threw away upgrading to version 29.

I performed only one action on our perfectly working BIMcloud: upgrading to version 29. And that action is what caused this incident.

Sorry, but this issue is discussed here up and down: https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Teamwork-BIMcloud/BIMcloud-warnings-are-getting-out-of-control/m-p/690785#M7479

The common conclusion is that the problem is 100% on Graphisoft. And the problem is not just with AC29 but exists since years. So the call for a refund is totally legit.

Our average project size is between 600MB and 4GB. We typically use about 3 to 5 Xrefs, and we rarely use Hotlinks.

Are you the developer of Smart Tree? I visited the link in your profile, and it looks like a great object. I think I will purchase it in the near future.

Is this 600MB to 4GB the size of your PLN files? A 1 GB PLN files is considered large, and above 2 GB it can be critical, and you could be running into the limitations of hardware/software.

Do you have any external files such as PDF’s or JPEG’s loaded in to the file either in the model or on the layouts? We’ve found this can cause performance issues especially with Teamwork when the Teamwork file is on the BIMcloud server and the imported PDFs or JPEG’s are stored locally or a network server. If this is the case, use the Drawing Manager palette to break the links. That may help.

Hello, thank you for your input. However, I have reverted the exact same project file that had issues in v29 back to version 28, and I have been working without a single issue for the past 3 days. I’ve got my happy daily routine back—as long as I don't think about the money wasted on the v29 upgrade.

And regardless of whether it’s 600MB or 4GB, shouldn't it work properly? For the past 5 years, I have exclusively handled projects larger than 2GB and never had any problems—until I met Archicad 29.

Thank you. I would like to inform you that issues occurred in both of the two projects where I migrated files that were working perfectly in version 28 to version 29. Now that I have reverted all those projects back to version 28, I am working without any issues whatsoever. Isn't ensuring that older project files work seamlessly in version 29 a promise between Graphisoft and its consumers?

Yes, PDFs and JPGs are loaded. That is a native function of Archicad. It is supposed to work properly; the mere presence of these files should not cause issues.

I repeat once again: there are absolutely no problems when using version 28 in the exact same environment.
