You can turn Vectorial Sun Shadows on and off in the Model Display panel of the Elevation Settings Dialog.

<T>Hi,

Im experimenting for the first time using colours in elevations using own material colours. But the sun settings are stuffing up my colours on different elevations (lighter darker), is there any way to turn the sun off for these elevations?</T>

If you are not wanting the sun to affect your material colors then under your section settings switch the "Fill uncut surfaces with" to Own material Colors (non shaded). I hope that is what you are asking about.
