There are some tiresome resentments that persist when i do traveling lectures:

- users resent the need for Photoshop to make better renderings.

- that Artlantis represents a fantastic value of ease of use, predictability of result and speed of production now that the import/export and object editing issues are resolved. Archicad users can't go wrong with Artlantis.
Even if times are tough right now, it is a chance to practice with the new software for later when things get busy again and you can really make some money.

Hey dwight! Thanks! Well, I tried saving it down to 11, but got an archicad bug report, my suspicion is that it doesn't like the archicad 12 library parts. The new artlantis would be nice, although with the current workload, I cannot really justify it. Maybe abvent will go bankrupt and then archicad can buy them and then make it the default render-er for archicad! Here is for hoping!

Of course - you have the option in the Save As format list (attached).

The error message you receive is due to one of two things: (1) a zero height wall [discovered by Djordje], or (2) material names that contain non alphanumeric symbols. Certain symbols are allowed, others result in the error. Yes, Abvent should provide a better error message with the name of the problem material ... or else accept all names. See the Artlantis forums for more discussion of this error and how to solve the export.

Cheers,
Thanks Karl,

I will check the material names, I might even try to exclude them. I will report back my findings. I doubt I have one, but I will use find and select to search for a zero ht. wall.
are dashes (-) or inches (") allowed in material names, I also have spaces too? I am using the stock archicad 12 file, with some of my own textures. I opened the 3d window with all the layers on and did a find and select for a zero ht wall, and found nothing. I am now wishing I was able to save it down to 11, which I tried and the library parts don't appear to work

Dashes are OK, but I'm not sure about inches/double-quote. (I think it works now - it was a bug I had reported back with Artlantis 4.0 / 4.5)

How about just starting a fresh file with just a wall and slab or something simple, displayed with standard materials that have no textures associated with them to see if that works for you to verify that the connection is generating a proper 1.2.6 file? And, then try some of your other materials to the same simple model, etc... Then you'll know what to do for the real project to work.

Good luck!
I have been able to export another file to artlantis without issue. Does the new version of artlantis have this issue? Can someone export this for me into the new version and then save it down for me? HELP!!!!!!

What do you mean, "If you really have the workload you are telling us...." I don't think I have been bragging about all the work I have. Perhaps something is lost in translation? You asked me what I want to hear, and I will tell you. "Hey you have 10 more new jobs, and they need to be done in two months." THat is what I want to hear. It's tough all around buddy. Putting food on my family's table is a little more important than the latest version of a software that works just fine most of the time. This isn't an artlantis glitch but an archicad one. So I am not sure where you are coming from buddy?
Did you try my implied method to track down the problem - saving just parts of the model until you run into a problem? Use the marquee or other method to select only part of the model for the 3D view and attempt the export until you can narrow down to a cut that works and a just-a-bit-bigger cut that doesn't ... and then figure out what was in the part that was added.
