I found also that in the forum, but that was later versions of 1. So my question was if you got it worked in 2.

But thanks.

<T>Hi!

Is there anybody here in ArchiCad forum that tried to make an object invisible (like a roof) but with cast shadow alternative on in Artlantis Render 2? I can't get it work. Shouldn't it work or is it a bug?

I wan't to look on my building from above seeing 'through' the roof but the sunlight only goes through windows.</T>

Does not work for me. In the UI, when the check for Material is Visible is cleared, the checkboxes for 'cast shadows' and 'receives shadows' remain active - which gives the impression that things would work like in Cinema 4D and give the result that you want.

So, the question for Abvent is whether this is a UI error - and the checkboxes should be disabled / gray after making the material invisible - or a programming error - and the shadows should be cast/received by the invisible element(s).

Best to ask such thing on the Artlantis forums:
<LINK_TEXT text="http://www.artlantis.com/index.php?page ... orum/index">http://www.artlantis.com/index.php?page=support/forum/index</LINK_TEXT>
I just searched the Abvent forums and found this:
<LINK_TEXT text="http://www.artlantis.com/index.php?page ... shaders_us">http://www.artlantis.com/index.php?page=support/forum/read&mes=410&fid=atl_shaders_us</LINK_TEXT>

so, apparently this feature worked before...
