As I understand the default resolution of the 3D window (OpenGL & Internal Engine) is set to 72 dpi. Can one set Resolution in 3D window to 300 dpi to achieve 8.5"x11" window area. I am trying to export the image to Piranesi to achieve sketch/water color rendering.
Thanks,

A shot in the dark: you could try setting your 3D Window to 2550 x 3300 pixels (most of it will be off screen) and then doing the Save As... or export. If you have Photoshop, you can change the size/resolution of the image.
The currency of image is pixels. Once it is a full page, when you print, the printer automatically resizes the image to the physical page size.

My screen is only 23"; would like to work on a widow of about 8.5x11 with 300 resolution so when exported the pixels are there and do not have to be interpolated by the other program.
Thanks,
Dwight,
I am going to call Entourage Arts, see waht she has to say about this.

I assume with Artlantis since the actual rendering is done in their engine the exported 75 dpi model resolution does not matter, correct?
Thanks,
Everything that outputs can re-scale. Artlantis lets you specify pixels, scale and physical size

Joseph

As the Piranesi export is a rendering, you just specify the pixel size.

For the umptillionth time: rendering pixel size = required printed size * required dpi

All you have to know is what you printed size should be. Divide it by the dpi and you get the pixel size. Render to EPX format (File - save as - Piranesi) that has that pixel count.

Example: 10 inch side of a picture at 300 dpi has 3000 pixels. So the longer side of your rendering should have 3000 pixels.

Of course that the standard Archicad 3D window has 72 dpi, that's the CRT resolution.

Artlantis is good because as you input the pixels and resolution is tells you the printed size - or any other combo. Change any of them and the rest adjusts.

Do I need to only set the Size in Photorendering Settings of LightWorks and then Save As from 3D window
OR
I have to first do PhotoRendering Projection and only then go to 3D window and Save As.
