topic Realistic Skymethod + realistic sun in Visualization

<T>Hi Everyone,

i have a question, and i hope Dwight could chip in for an answer.
We are placing a skydome (60% intensity) realist method (64samples) with a realistic sun from the rendering setup dialog (with 64 samples). We use 60% for ambient and 100% for sun strength.
No matter what we setup for sun strength, the renderings come out like cloudy day with blurry shadows.
We also tried to use the simple Sun (from the rendering dialog box) with 5500 K colortemp and hard shadows, quality 16 and we still get blurry not strong shadows.

any tips appritiated.

Mishi</T>

You have created an argument with your light sources.

First, you must not have my book because if you did, you would never adjust SUN color with the "K" degrees setting.

1: Realistic sun should have 0.0 divergence for sharp shadows.

2: skydome energy will always soften a shadow.

3: Fastest rendering is with the SUN SUN in the Photorendering Dialog with high - like 200% - ambient and no skylight.

4: If you have results than cannot be adjusted, there is probably a stray sun object or something on another story that affects the scene.
