Stonethrower,

If it's any help, my copy of Virtual Tutor (by the same company) has a auto-running .exe file to play the tutorial. It doesn't need an external video player. (Unless they have changed it!)

I always thought the .osx file was something to do mac compatability so wont run on a pc anyway?

Try just opening the DVD using explorer (making sure you actually have a DVD drive not just a CD drive) and have a look at the files on the disc. Then try launching the .exe file manually if you still have problems.

Let us know how you get on with the tutorials!

What is the title of the DVD? and is it about rendering in Archicad?

Maybe there's a misspelling in the text

(when you've seen it, can you tell me if it's a musthave? Maybe I'll buy it too)

How about asking Grahpisoft Australia what's needed?
(I'd guess Quicktime, Flash, and Archicad (at least version 10)).
<S></S>What is the title of the DVD? and is it about rendering in Archicad? <E></E>

'Professional Rendering with Lightworks' for Archicad V 9 & 10 by Graphisoft Australia, on their site for sale. bit dear, royal mail also takes a 20 sterling cut when they deliver it to you - 'handling costs'! ha!

Seemed very informative - up until my laptop gave up the ghost & my pc refused to play it! shazbot!

<S></S>What is the OSX file?

the OSX is the autoplay I guess???? anyone else please correct me here!

have you tried playing it using VLC? (free video player, usually will play anything that can be played - http://www.videolan.org/)

Nope - tried downloading some macromedia stuff - latest soundwave/flashplayer/director.... all sorts of dvd players... no good!

Have you tried playing it in a DVD player (not on a computer, through a TV).<E></E>

yes, to no avail, recognises image files etc, but doesn't kick start play!

the really killing thing is i arrived to work this morning and it plays like a dream in here.. if you had the time to look at it!
So try VLC. Like I said, it generally plays anything. It's a small free download, no reason no to try it.
So logically take a look at the two computers (your's and work's).
Are they the same?
What is different about your office computer :
What operating system is it?
What software is the dvd playing in?

By the way - Putting the specs of your computers in your signature would help other people help you.
