I have just loaded the free Acrobat Connect demo and you can log in and see my ArchiCAD screen. I tried it and there is only a very very small delay in what is on my screen and what I see on the Acrobat Connect screen, even when I am spinning something around in 3D.

Want to give it a try? Down load the demo and log into my meeting.
I am not sure of the number of people who can be in the meeting, but we should be able to click on any any ones window box at the meeting and see their screen. You can of course choose which window you want us to see.

Yup for downloading the free trial...will come to the big big world outside US soon...
Looks like a nice and simple way to perform for example teaching/support stuff. Really interesting!

Steve

Had a peek (felt like a voyeur). not sure if you knew I was there or not. Aussie was there too, my name was in italics, his wasn't, don't know the reason. I didn't actually have to download anything, it just connected (and prompted for telephone conference, which I declined).

Had an option for view at 100% or fit to screen (which on mine equated to 59% with surrounding Acrobat menu's etc taking up some space). Some of the lines etc looked broken, and tracker text was hard to read at 59%, but otherwise got the picture o.k. Disappeared every now and then but eventually came back. I was waiting for a 3D view (which was generating) but then vanished and came back when you were in plan again.

Interesting tool. Might not have to explain things on this Forum anymore, just hook up a meeting and demonstrate in real time....

That looks like it'll have some fantastic possibilities. I saw it at an Acrobat presentation a few weeks ago. Nice that the invitees didn't have to install any thing extra. I could only zoom to 49% though, even when I got given 'control'. Having control didn't seem to do anything - I guess you need the software to be able to do other things (write notes on the screen? point with your mouse?)

I wonder how much being able to host a meeting will cost...

free during the demo. 58 days left on mine.

It seemed to run to slow to work on sometimes. Other times is was just fine. I think it was faster when I had it set so I was the only presenter.
When I enabled everyone who logs on to be a presenter it ran slower.

Theoretically, we should be able to click on any screen any participant has enabled.

Many improvements in Acrobat 8 too. All good stuff.
