Thats excellent result. I've got friends who use autocad-3dmax combination and they say that there r options to speed up rendering process in 3dmax but u have to be 3dmax expert for that.

I rendered this weekend one picture with archicad internal lighworks, using photorealistic sun (thats slow drastically but add very fine shadows), on intel dual core 2.0 with n-vidia 7600 graphic card, 3300x2500 resolution. Rendering time: about unbelievable frustrating long 12 hours.

Did u use some speeding up tricks in 3dmax or just putted skylight and some sun and reduced quality (number of rays etc.)?

<T>This is a "fast" rendering, made with Max. For a long time I had the intention to publish one so there it is.

The aim is not to have a realistic rendering, but a nice presentation! Render time: 36 sec. Grass in Photoshop.

I would appreciate your comments!</T>

I always try to stick to simpler methods. You could achieve wonderful results with 3-4 years old techniques applied on a modern computer. Remember that what was taking you 3-4 hours then could be done today in several minutes! This leaves plenty of time for experiments!

I still keep the old Max 6 on my computer. Speeding up is Max 6 with 2 gigs ram- it feels very happy !:)
