I think you're heading in the right direction. Also remember that when you save your 3D view to your View Map, 3D and Rendering settings are saved with it, so if you find a setting you like save the view. Even if it is a Custom setting it will be saved for next time (and then remember to redefine the view with "get current window's settings" if you change something else later on).

<T>I am fiddling and experimenting trying to understand the Basic Settings tab and the relationship between Sketch Style and Line Style. For instance if I select Imagine as sketch style then 06_Brush_Aqua automatically comes up as line style. What is the relationship of Sketch Style to Line Style and visa versa. Are these pre-set or is there any particular method to customising settings?</T>

David

It seems that's just the default for that particular sketch style. You can pick a style near what you want, then modify as necessary, but it will change from "Imagine" to "Custom".

If you follow this link here you will see all the standard sketch styles in their default states. (You might have been a member here long enough to have seen it before). It only shows the sketch styles, not the individual line styles unfortunately.

There's also a way to save your non-default settings, described by Dwight in this thread, but it sounds like trouble to me.

but it will change from "Imagine" to "Custom".

If I start with "Imagine" and tweak the line style, and "Imagine" changes to "Custom" the sketch style would still be Imagine and the line style would be something else but still within the "Imagine" sketch style???

So, I guess that has been my question. For some reason I am being a knucklehead with this and typing it out here sort of forced me to clarify it in my mind.

I have seen the above links before and they provide great info. Love the FuzzyTips! But when using the standard koh-i-nor I could not help but always wonder; I would like to experiment but how does this sketch thing really flow??

Now I can experiment with a different approach.
