By the time Graphisoft exploits the eight cores,
there will be 64 cores that run on solar power and you will post "When will we have sixty-four?"

<R>No more getting up at the crack of dawn, burning the midnight oil is also passé composé.

The 8 core Mac Pro has landed and Activity monitor (see screen capture) shown within ArchiCAD displays that a typical work load is now childs play.

((Aprils fool, just a spoof - I made the Activity Monitor panel in PhotoShop))

For now I am still in Dual Processor land, maybe some day - hey honey?
At least the rendering portion should run at full tilt boogie, if Nemechek integrates the C4D rendering engine in future releases.

Letter to Maxon

Q:I was wondering, with the 8 Core Mac Pro, does the standard license
allow you to utilize all cores without extra expense? Thank for any
info.

A: Yes, it does. We do not node lock.

Cheers,
Maxon

With testing all bars go 100% with multiprocessors when rendering.

LightWorks is also multithreaded, although there are limitations:
So if am I to understand correctly, when you need a high quality anti-alias, realistic sun image, (old school) ray traced large format image - then at that key point just prior to outputting an image for print - the Lightworks drops from a useful multi-threaded to a useless single-processor only.

O.K. that makes perfect sense Where can I buy a program like that.
