Missing Lines in Internal Engine Hidden Line View

Hello Talkers,

I am Missing Lines in Internal Engine Hidden Line View. See Attachment (red lines).

This often occurs in many places in the Model. The Intersecting objects have different Fill Types and Model Material specifications.

Is there a way to have the intersection lines appear?

Undocumented. You need to enable the Special Menu and turn on "Show Penetration Lines"

Should be a standard 3D display option IMHO.

F.Y.I. (For Y'Alls Information) :
Once the Registry value of the Special Menu was changed to "1", the Special Menu is Displayed in my already Customized WE. I did not have to Add the Special Menu in the WE. Maybe this is a new Fix?

Also any saved view must be redefined after checking the "Show Penetration Lines" option.

Follow-up Question: Is the "Show Penetration Lines" option pretty much valuable for Internal Engine Hidden Line Views? Or are there other views that benefit from the "Show Penetration Lines"?

So it appears that the "Show Penetration Lines" silver bullet only effects the 3D window and not Section Windows.

Try SEO'ing the two objects (subtractive).

Sounds like this would do it ....... I quess I need to Subtract all of my Foundation Stem walls and Sono-tubes from the Mesh. I hate to "bog" down the File with "too Many" SEO's Though.

This is a vague memory, but check to make sure that "Show Penetration Lines" is still on. I feel like that's a setting that's saved into the View Sets and is easily accidentally turned on and off.

Just when I thought that this "new" (And Special) "Show Penetration Lines" tool would become a regular "click" on my way to better Internal Engine Hidden Line Views.... I thought amiss.

The Attached view is another site that I am working on that has Two imported module Files with Trees as the Site. With "Show Penetration Lines" left un-checked the display/regen time is about a minute, with "Show Penetration Lines" checked the proposed regen time jumps to about 20 minutes (never let it finish.)

It must be all the trees.....

I plan to go without the "specialness" on this one.
