Saving EPS files

When I open an EPS file in photoshop after saving it out of plotmaker, Photoshop says it can't parse the file. Any Ideas why this is happening or how to avoid it?

The resolution is too high and you are running out of RAM for photoshop to open the file. Check the file size when you open it in PS and reduce the DPI's.

You can save it as Photoshop-file (psd?) in PM, and in AC.
