<T>Apart from placing a plane (floorslab maybe?) at 1500mm or so above the ground level, and using the boolean command to trim off what is above 1500 with the plane as the operator, is there another way of doing this?

Also, does anyone know which is a good software that I can import the model to for rendering floorplan images with shadows and good material? I have been converting the plan view in ArchiCAD to a PDF image, and bringing it to PhotoShop to add colors, and I am not really pleased with the results.
Shawn

This reminds me of a question Ivan asked:

<LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... php?t=2291">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=2291</LINK_TEXT>

There has been other threads on this topic too, so you may want to do a search.

Incidentally I have noticed you are into rendering. You should take a look at some of Ivan's posts here in AC-Talk. I haven't seen him around for a while but he submitted the best renderings this forum has ever seen.

Graphisoft wrote an Envisions article on him when he won the Design Showcase:

<LINK_TEXT text="http://www.graphisoft.com/community/env ... dshow.html">http://www.graphisoft.com/community/envisions/2004_11_dshow.html</LINK_TEXT>

And his website is http://www.vuejardin.com/ .

Check them out - the man is brilliant. Your jaw will drop...

Cheers,
