<T>Can someone tell me again what the spacing and size of all the little white dots we see when we start a rendering are related to the resulting image ? It could save a lot of time perhaps in tweaking the settings.</T>

Sure. But it is not anything unique to screen settings. I am talking about all the little white dots that are always visible in the Rendering window as GI is being calculated before the rendering starts, it is eliminated as the rendering progresses. If how close they are together or how large or small they are can tell me something about the quality of the renderings, I could perhaps tell at a glance if the settings are going to be adequate or not - without having to let it reder for a while to see the outcome.

Hey Steve, those are the shading points of the cache.

And yes, they indeed tell something about the quality of the render.
