Work in progress but i need some help u guys

How can I improve my lighting and material mapping for this scene. I am using window lights, sun and sky object with the settings beefed up. But still, my interior still looks dark. Questions and comments would be greatly appreciated.

this is a good start.

--- change light color to combination of warm and cool.

-- uplight ceiling through undersun - manual -90 degree sunobject with shadows off.

--- increase roughness on walls to .01,.01, 1,1

Dwight, I was wondering how i can make that light fixture on the ceiling show its edges while still having some light generated from it. I have a few other camera angles that i have to post. My biggest problem is to assign a mirror reflectance to my suppose to be mirror on the wall.

1: Ceiling light fixture edge definition:

-- use a large light cone down to make light energy instead.
-- place a small slab against the ceiling to stand in for your fixture with a material of constant reflectance on the top and bottom and plain white on the edges. For really fancy effects, use Emission.

2: Mirror: There's a mirror shader in the Surface definitions.

All this and more in the book. But you know that.

Dwight, will you be in the halifax area during may and august? I applied to Dalhouise's Architecture Program and was going to take summer courses. I wanted to catch one of your seminars but thats only if your going to be in that area.

No plans for the Maritimes right now. Fairly busy in Denver toward late summer installing two art projects.

But you can order the book. My seminar is based directly in the lessons and images of the book.
