The same as with 3ds max:

In ArchiCAD, go to the 3D View and do an export as *.3ds.
This can be directly opened in VIZ.

There are some minor issues, but that's more or less what you need to do.

Search this forums, since that question has allready been answered several times by me and other forum members.

Hint0: export as materials and save texture information
Hint1: 3ds files only use MS-DOS names for textures
Hint2: VIZ can only find textures if the path is found. Set this up in VIZ or copy all used textures in the same folder as the 3ds file.
Hint3: weld vertices in VIZ
Hint4: apply smoothing on curved geometry
Hint5: delete the ArchiCAD sun-spot in VIZ and replace it with a daylight system
Hint6: delete the FOG in the VIZ rendering effects (tip: it's entry uses an empty name, so hard to see in the list)
Hint7: check www.sbuild.com for more info
Hint8: check the free plugins from Marc Lorenz for VIZ/max

Don't forget that when Stefan refered to 'MS-Dos' names only, that you might want go through your materials list and make sure that you don't have anything other than text letters for the names. In other words if you're using ASCII, you'll not want to have ?><,.;'][\`":/ in your material names.

*.3ds is the 3D Studio file format (the old predecessor to VIZ and max) and this is one (of the few) formats that VIZ can read natively.

Can you send me the *.3ds file so I can try?
