Has software like "Mental Ray" been mentioned on this forum as a possible solution for handling large renderings in ArchiCAD? Maybe not this software in particular, but the aspect of "network (through distributed processing) renderings" for example...

http://www.mentalimages.com/2_1_0_mentalray/

"mental ray® generates images of outstanding quality and unsurpassed realism and <S></S>achieves scalable performance through the exploitation of parallelism on both multiprocessor machines and across networks of machines.<E></E> The software uses advanced and proprietary acceleration and recursive sampling techniques for faster rendering on even the smallest, single processor machines."

I have hopes that Apples' X grid will eventually help with rendering times. Has anyone looked into using it with AC?

Here is a link to X grid.
