have you tried rendering the fly-thru as a series of still images (picts on mac)
from the fly-thru dialogue?

might have a lower memory overhead?

Graphic Converter will stitch them together

if you you can't afford a new mac right now a 256M memory chip at about fifty bucks would'na be a bad idea

<T>Nearly every time I try to save a fly-through as a quicktime movie it causes Archicad to crash. The more complex the parameters of the fly-through, the more likely it is to have a problem. I can usually save some simple fly-throughs (less than five cameras, sourced from the 3D window), but if I try to create a flythrough from the photorendering window it causes a crash every time. I'm assuming that the problem is caused by inadequate hardware but I thought there might be a way to get around this by adjusting the settings of the fly-through or of my computer. Does anyone have any ideas?
It does sound like inadequate hardware; that is why you should include your hardware and OS specs, as well as ArchiCAD version in your signature. Otherwise, it is next to impossible to answer.

It looks Djordje is right. Your machine specs are about the minimum for running ArchiCAD these days.

Usually this should only cause it to run slowly though. How much free space do you have on your hard drive?

I have slightly more than 15 GBs free memory.
What's the recomended hardware setup?
Your Mac is really an old machine; I am wondering how ArchiCAD works at all!

You are very probably running out of memory. See <LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... php?t=2398">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=2398</LINK_TEXT> for current opinions on which Mac to buy (and speed comparisons too).
