I must be working too hard and getting too tired. I can't remember if this was added to the wish list, but it would be nice to be able to set transparency separately in 3D and S/E; perhaps even set individually in each S/E. If not it should be added. Do you recall if it was?

<T>Is there any way to make glass transparent in elevation views and drawing? I can't seem to get that to work. The glass shows transparent in the 3D view.

Thanks, Tom</T>

If it is transparent in 3D window in shading and hidden line (Image/3D window settings/Tranparency on), it should be transparent in the S/E too. Rendering is another matter.

Is there anyway to get Gs to improve the Glass in Open GL?

When I first saw it and teach it, one was apologising to students about how Open GDL cant do glass.

Having used Sketchup and ArchiShock 3D, both of which use Glass, its clear that there's something very wrong with ArchiCADs 3D Open GL drawn Glass - both transparent and not, and not with the Open GL.

I was very obvious (even to the GS representatives) at the Winter School after successive demonstrations of ArchiShock 3D and sketchup.

AFAIR (As Far As I Remember) it was. Plus, the ability of the view to preserve the transparency setting - as of now, what is in the 3D, that is in the S/E.

I agree fully with DNC on the OpenGL transparency - it is all or nothing, which is a serious drawback for otherwise excellent interactivity of the OpenGL mode.

I have personally submitted this wish twice in the last two months. Here's hoping

In essence you already can achieve this with the use of your view sets. Transparency in Shading is actually a display option that is saved when you define your views. Have it on when defining your 3D views and off when defining S/E windows. If you want it on for certain S/E windows make sure it's on for these off for the one you don't.

IMHE not. IT should work like this, but AFAIK does not - he 3D setting is kept, regardless of the S/E view setting. There was an inquiry some months ago, I tried, and this happened. Will have to check again, just to try.

Make sure you do a rebuild of the elevation - the view change should do it.
