Align building with background image.

I have many photos of the place the new design is going to be placed.
Its not just landscape. THere are many buildings around.

How can i place the building (that is set the camera settings) so it aligns with the background.

It would be nice if i could define for example a flat surface by pointing to 3 points and then pointing to the corresponding surface in the structure. Camera setting should then be calculated at once..

Any suggestions, how do you usually do that

Align view in ArchiCAD (an article on ArchiGuide explains finer points, http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/archiguide/alignview.html)

The same function that IMHE works better in Art•Lantis 4.5 (called Site Insertion, see http://www.abvent.com/us/software/artlantis/nouveautes.asp)

Of course, knowing the lens properties of the camera and having experience in actions like these helps ...

Djordje (or any others who are trying to access the links)- drop the ")" at the end of the link or they wont work
