Wrong Colours in 3D View

I have added some custom colours to the external walls of my model, and they display correctly in 2D elevation, but when i change to a 3D view the colours are quite different, and incorrect. I have attached the elevation and 3D views of the same side of the same model. Can anyone tell me how to get the correct colours on the 3d views?

Can you show the 'Model Appearance' settings in the elevation settings and the 3D style settings of your 3D view?

OK, so your elevations are set to own surface colour for uncut elements.

That is good.

But it only shows the surface colour - not the textures.

Your 3D is set to use the 'OpenGL' engine which is probably showing the surface textures.

Click on the settings button next to 'OpenGL' and see if the textures are selected.

Try turning that off and see if they match better.

Since version 25, there is an option in the elevations to use surfaces with textures - so they will look like the 3D with textures.

Just be aware this may make printing your elevations to PDF problematic - large file size, slow to load and possibly won't print.

Hi Barry,

This is what the Open GL settings were. As suggested, i turned the textures off, but it made no difference.

It seems the OpenGL still uses different settings to the elevation.

Chnage the 3D Style to use the 'Vectorial' engine (that is what the elevations use).

This will be much closer.

Make sure the hatching is turned on if you want that.

To navigate in 3D with the vectorial engine is a bit slower than OpenGL.

That has fixed the colour problem. The image quality isn't as good, but I'll live with it this time. Still a mystery as to why this has happened, because i have done this many times before without issue. Anyway, thanks again. I have attached a screenshot of the result.
