Guided-Lines Help

Dear All,

Sorry, I am a new user to ArchiCAD and is using ArchiCAD 20.

My question is about Guidelines. I am SketchUP user and in SketchUp, I can use the Tape Measure/Ruler tool to click on one-point and drag to the direction i want, key in the distance, and it will hv dotted/dash lines on the surface. And the distance between the point click and the line is the distance i type in.

I wanted to know if I can do the same on ArchiCAD. I had tried the Red/Orange color Guidelines X/Y axis, however, I can only click and drag but couldnt accurately key-in the distance I wanted it to be as a Guide for my drawing.

In this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ms7Nz7lblY) I see that the user has this black dash line, which guided him to draw. I wonder, what is the tool for the black dash line? Is it just LINE TOOL ?

I had tried using Line Tool and currently, is the only method I can use to guide the distance i wanted.

Wonder, if there is anyone who can help me answer if ArchiCAD has the feature I looking for, like the one in SketchUp - tape measure tool.

I guess in short, what I m saying is that, is there a way to place a guide-line which distance is accurately from one point to the guide line is place.

Yes, ArchiCAD can do this in a variety of ways. You should do some research into Guide lines, and Snap guides.

As to the video you linked: that user could either have created a bunch of guidelines...but more likely, they just drew dashed lines.
