You should assign wall materials and components to the walls, not zones; then the zones will read the settings from the walls.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
I might be off the mark here, so please explain what is it exactly that you want to do.&lt;BR /&gt;

I'm new here, and I will be grateful to anybody who will help me with this problem:&lt;BR /&gt;

I'm trying to assign components to the wall surface area of zones but its not working, I know the zone fix parameters but they always return zero or one when filled in the (proportional with ) custom box in the property components .&lt;BR /&gt;

      <description>ok, first thank you for your answer,&lt;BR /&gt;

here is what I'm trying to do:&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
when you assign properties to walls, you will have to split some of them , because they have defferent finish from the inside (while the same from outside), maybe because the function is defferent, i.e a bathroom beside a bed room.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
to avoid splitting walls I am trying to assign components to zones (surface of surround wall). That makes interior finish quantity calculations much simpler and spairs me the problems that result from splitting the walls&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
now the zones have a parameter called (surface_of_surround_walls) it but it just returns 1 when it is entered in the custom (proportional to) box in components.&lt;BR /&gt;
