Palette to Change Date / Time in 3D Window Quickly

Hi all,

Something to add to the wish list: A palette that can be locked to the desktop to change the date/time quickly when modelling in 3D. This would be really handy when figuring out sun penetration into windows/doors and openings to maximise winter sun, minimise summer sun. I've read through the forums and have noted that other people have mentioned this or have searched for a faster way to change the date/time other than opening the 3D projections window. It is quite cumbersome to open this window to change the date/time when you need to do it consecutively and repeatedly. Does anyone else find this to be an issue? Or has a faster way been created or discovered that I'm yet unaware of?

Hi, Henry!

I think the mods will react accordingly (merge, delete, whatever) if you create a post in the Wishlist forum ( https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Wishlist/idb-p/wishlist ) so it might be a good idea to go there. You can (and you should) search for your idea there, and go on from there if you can't find it. You can also discuss to expand ideas if there is something similar. Wishlist and Roadmap are under "BUILDING TOGETHER" menu up top on the website. It took me a while to find both of them after the site was redesigned and things were shuffled around.

Go for it, I will upvote your idea, it seems like a good one. 🙂

Hi henrysaxby,

In my template, I have created camera courses for each significant hour I need, each course containing 12 cameras for each month in order.

You can also create views from those cameras if you need to place them on a layout.

Creating the first course is the longest one then you duplicate it and only have to change the time for the 12 cameras.
