To be honest, I had some great results with ChatGPT. Better than anything I could do myself and for me it yielded better results than Gemini, SD or other AI's aimed at architects.

Some examples of GPT (plus) and he also did some great interior renders on more corporate environments which I can't show unfortunately:

Main points I learned:

- give it examples (links, pictures, references, product names) for each and every material
- give it a clear starting screenshot, with as much detail in Archicad as possible because you don't want it to design on your behalf.
- painstakingly prompt everything: scenery, material on back wall, what the roads looks like, how the silhouette of the hill is, time of day, where the sun is, what each material should feel like, weathering amount etc. And for best results tell him about the composition. Top right building corner is x, y, z.

- you can edit pictures once he generates the first one (zone select) but the more iterations you do the less and less true to the original it is. Usually I save the first picture, open up a new chat, start from "scratch"
- tell it how the picture should feel, lights etc.

- tell it to keep the image proportions identical to the screenshot (sometimes it tends to mess with the perspective)

- tell it to ensure print ready quality and keep the photos high def (or if you want distance blur, tell it that).

- reference some of your main inspiration websites (while also keeping in mind, non-ironically, that AI companies stole a lot of artists art to train their data and that's not at all at the very least ethical - this is an important discussion to be had, for sure).

- use reference images (either to give it to ChatGPT but that can make him borrow unwanted elements) or use them to better understand the ambiance you are going for (like you would with a mood-board if you were to do the render yourself)

- post process it (affinity, photoshop, photopea) etc. Light balance, color grading, highlights, maybe add something to it "the old fashioned way". This way also the image doesn't automatically registered as "fully ai generated" in software trained to track specific AI generated slop.

- be wary of any artefacts and hallucinations that are not contractually covered. If you get random design choices there that you didn't want, there's also a risk that a client might understand them more and request them because sometimes the render is more convincing than a technical floor plan.

- keep in mind that you are also contributing to its training by feeding it your designs.

Hi,

With a good enough prompt I got pretty decent results with ChatGPT and/or Google Gemini. The more accurate you describe the building and environment, the better the results. However be wary, they tend to add stuff or approximate and they might "freestyle" things you designed. And some post-processing might be necessary.

If I see it tends to hallucinate, I usually open a new chat, so it ignores previous input. And start all-over.

You can try both for free at first to get a feel for what they are capable of.

I'm not a rendering guy; and I know the AI style is defintiely a thing; but the results I got were passably decent, with little effort... at least it wasn't putting rogue swimming pools everywhere, or changing my doors to cabinets...

Twinmotion was a game changer, as Chat gpt has been so far. It gets more than acceptable results, but always starting with a 3d model (either full or half baked) or hand drawings. Gets the desired result after 5 to 10 iterations.

This has been an important find for me. I am a bit unusual in that I have had a web site since the 90's selling "stock" plans. I am not focusing on high end, but the opposite actually... infill lots and small plans. Often for the affordable market. For years I used the vector AC engine and added trees etc after. Last year I realized I needed to step it up a big notch, which means generating about 600 renderings. I primarily sell via 3rd party sites, and they like photo renderings. I started using Cinerenderings last fall, and was very happy, for the most part. I saw some AI renderings of my plans a 3rd party site did and was blown away. I looked around and now use MyArchitectAI, as someone else mentioned. Now I am saving a lot of time because I can generate the Cinerendering using the lowest settings, and not getting as carried away with textures/colors. I still try and get close though. No grass grown at all.

If you look at my web site the ones starting in the 1300's are with the AI tool. Smaller than that are Cine. I'll attach what I now upload, and the result. I do still need a few prompts, sometimes, but not always. What I really like about MyArchitectAI is the developer. They (a couple basically) remind me of Graphisoft in the early days. They respond to questions, and provide a roadmap of the intended development. They don't yet have what some other AI rendering tool apps do, but what they now have it what I need, and a bit cheaper, but mainly, I like their attitude.

It’s available for Vectorworks software & provides some AI features in addition to those ones inside Vectorworks itself.

I tried LineSpire via the 5 credit demo last month. Following the best practices on their website, I created a successful test rendering on the first try. So I subsequently started a subscription for our studio.

We are continuing to explore AI as an enhancement tool for our architectural renderings. The current workflow is using Archicad + LineSpire Reflect + Gemini + Photoshop. By incorporating LineSpire Reflect into the process, the underlying architecture remains unchanged. In combination with precise prompt writing, the approach significantly reduces hallucinations.

You can check out our studies on Linkedin.

Joseph Augustine • YouResidential Architectural Manager at The WisdomTree Group6d •

So a bit late to the game here, but is everyone walking away from things like Enscape and Twinmotion? I am faced with a bunch of single family renderings (I haven't been in the visualization game in a while) that require me to have materials/wall coverings accurate to samples provided to the client. While I like the idea of this AI stuff, how much control do you really have? I supposed I need to get out and test a few of these out, but figured I would check here before I begin spinning my wheels.
