Yes, it's a common thing. That setting is no small task for any computer.

<T>Hello. I bought an iMac like 2 weeks ago with this specs. 21.5' 2.7 Ghz Intel Core i5 8gb 1600 Mhz, and I'm using Archicad 19, my question is: when I render in Outdoor Daylight Fast, it renders quickly but when I try rendering Outdoor Daylight Final, it takes so long and the computer starts being pretty slow, like I can't using anything besides Archicad. Is this a common thing ? or the specifications from this iMac are no enough for rendering in high quality with details like grass 3d,etc.

Hope you could help me how to get my performance better.

Thanks!</T>

I have a similar spec Mac. I rarely go beyond using the fast settings as the quality of image is good enough for most basic requirements. If you need to produce better images consider running them when you are away from your desk or even overnight but don't forget to adjust your energy saving settings so the Mac doesn't go to sleep

A render farm is an option too. When you know it is going to be a good rendering you can export the file to Cinema 4D file format and use a render farm for the final rendering. https://us.rebusfarm.net/en/
Lots of render farms can process a .c4d file.
