Hi, could probably be lack of lighting?
Try adding a light nearby the fence and see if this change something.

<T>Hi

I am trying to render a gate proposal over an existing image but having little success. The gate is black but should be white. Please see image attached.

Thanks</T>

Pete at Walker:

Check the gate's Surface Settings > Engine Settings : CineRender by Maxon, they may not match the Internal Engine settings. To start to get them coordinated, use the Match Settings...: Update CineRender Settings (from Internal) option.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.
Thanks for your reply David. I have checked the surface settings and they're fine. When I render without the background image and select a sky setup under environment the surface is correct.

Should have a signature now - than ks for the tip!
