<DIV class="actalk-migrated-content"><T>Does a new surface I am creating have to have a texture image attached to it, even if I "Update internal setting (from Cinerender)" for a surface I created procedurally? If the answer is yes, then what is the purpose of the "Update internal setting (from Cinerender)"?</T></DIV>

When you turn on the 3D internal engine , it create a link between the internal , external ( cinerendering maxon ) that should be one of the purpose of updating internal settings . The texture can be varied and can only work with internal setting when rendering. This statement is to the best of my knowledge .
