The Artlantis forum is:

<LINK_TEXT text="http://www.artlantis.com/index.php?page ... orum/index">http://www.artlantis.com/index.php?page=support/forum/index</LINK_TEXT>

Archicad lights should only be considered as location markers in Artlantis. You will want to adjust and control lights separately there.

Including lights is an export function

Hi,
I realise this may be an artlantis question, however, when i place the lights in archicad, when i try to save the ArchiCAD file as an artlantis file and it asks the question about lights to export, the function to export or enable lights isn't active and wont allow me to export these. therefore i thought this may be an archicad question.

Thanks
As Dwigth said, this is more a question for Artlantis forums.

However ... with the required camera view active, click on the light tool, select the appropriate light group from the Explorer. Done.

I give up on these forums, artlantis is sending me here because it is an archicad object and exporting issue and archicad is sending me there because it is a rendering issue. there should be a forum that assists with both programs as they work hand in hand.
Thanks for your help anyway.
Hm, curious ...

In general, use ArchiCAD lights as placeholders and models. Add Artlantis lights instead, as they are of much higher quality and are much more manageable.

The ArchiCAD lights are translated into a light group of their own. So if you did import them, associate it with a camera, and adjust the parameters accordingly.

For a light to export from Archicad, it needs to be visible and "on" - ie: at some intensity.

The grouping advice is erroneous.

thankyou so much for that. i have had so many "little" issues popping up that are causing huge problems for me. The only thing i can think of is that it is an educational version i am using and that is why im having so many problems with both ArchiCAD 12, Artlantis Studio 2 and Artlantis Render.

Hopefully your response will enable me to at least get done what i need to do, so i can then sort once assignment is in.
Yes, that may say. and the guys from Graphisoft lose Autodesk, textures in ArchiCAD not very well understood! Their preferences have to spend a lot of time and the preview window is not visible and the texture, which will then in the renders.
For normal operation you should know all these nuances, and adjust the texture with the light of these advances.
In 3D MAX a fool (I do not mean professional!) Can apply the "correct texture" a movement of his hands ... In ArchiCAD that was not enough ...
