topic Renderings in Visualization

<R> There seems to be several add-ons out there for renderings if ArchICAD isn't doing enough......how does one know which to go with? We are not looking to produce photo realistic renderings but rather hand-sketch renderings with color. I like the sketch views I can produce within AC but now I need them to be colored in. Can anyone provide me some help on this topic??

Thanks!</R>

The most common / easy technique for this is to overlay a sketch render on top of a colored render of lower opacity.

Some earlier posts on the topic:
Various folks in this topic:
<LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... hp?t=18981">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=18981</LINK_TEXT>

Setting the Sketch background to be a rendered image does create an overlay without having to buy additional software, but there is pretty much no control - can't change the contrast of the sketch, or opacity of the color, or erase parts of the colored image. So, having Photoshop (Elements) or a similar image editing program that lets you overlay two images (layers) and control their blending can yield better results.

Thanks for the help..... I now understand how to use a photo rendering as a background to a sketch which is a help for sure. All of this helps me see that PhotoShop or some type of editing program is really required to get the results we are looking for.

The attached picture has all been created in AC, no add-on programs.
